A Little History
The origins of Sauze d’Oulx are pre-Roman and over the years it has been owned by Dauphine and Escartons Republic. With the Treaty of Utrecht France gave Sauze d’Oulx to the House of Savoy and in 1747 its territory was the seat of the Battle of Assietta between France and Savoy’s Kingdom of Sardinia.
In front of the church of Sauze there is still the Tree of Liberty, planted in 1793 to celebrate the French Revolution.

Sauze d’Oulx hosted the Freestyle & Moguls competitions in the 2006 Turin Winter Olympic Games.
